Shawgate Farm is a family run Guesthouse set in 5 acres of grounds overlooking the picturesque Churnet valley.

All rooms are en-suite with tea/coffee making facilities & colour TV with the choice of 4 poster double, twin & large family rooms that can accomodate 5/6 people. We have a large off road private car park with ample space for guest's vehicles. The original farm buildings have been converted into the guesthouse making it a self contained establishment.

Shawgate Farm is now licensed to host civil wedding ceremonies, renewal of marriage vows, baby naming and commitment services.

For those looking for an adventurous stay Alton Towers is a mere 10 minute drive away. Also in the area is the UK's number 1 indoor aqua park, Waterworld, full of slides and wave making offering a great day out.

For the golfers, Whiston golf club is only 2 miles away and day visitors are always welcome.

Even closer to home is Froghall wharf, situated only 1 mile away on the Cauldon canal, this is a lovely place in which to enjoy the country surroundings either on foot, on a boat trip or a steam train journey on the newly restored Churnet valley railway.

Stoke on Trent is renowned for its pottery and offers many factory shops in which to pick up bargains and souvenirs, furthermore the visitors centres of Wedgwood, Doulton and Spode offer excellent tours to show how the pottery is made. Or step back in time and visit the Gladstone Pottery museum to see the history of and try your own hand at making your own souvenirs.

Being situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park we are in an ideal spot for walkers with Dovedale, Bakewell and the stately homes of Chatsworth House and Shugborough Hall all within easy reach.
